The Stream of Time is an old map dating from 1849. At the time of writing it is 150 years old - which seems like a suitable anniversary to celebrate by sharing it with the world via the Internet. It charts the complete history of 'everything' all the way back to the beginning of time - 4004 BC (Notable Event: Creation of the World. Great Characters: Adam & Eve)(!). I know nothing else about this map other that what is written on it. If know anything about it, or you have any interesting facts about the content on the map (see Ideas), then please email me at jay@tyrell.demon.co.uk - I will update the site and give you credit (if you want it).
When unfolded the map measures 1180mm x 725mm. Folded it measures 210mm x 150mm (& 15mm thick) - each segment is that size or smaller. I originally scanned each segment at 300dpi and then experimented with various scales and settings. The end result is that 150dpi is the minimum needed to be able to read the writing on the map. At this size each section is too large to fit vertically on a 1024x768 display. The navigation frameset is designed to work maximised so you don't have to scroll side to side. It is not perfect but it's the best I can do for now!

I am not a historian! So I wouldn't know an error from the 'real' thing...
4004BC: I have heard that an ancient historian figured out that 4004BC must be the beginning of the world by calculating backwards all the generations in the Old Testament. More I do not know.
The Year 0: Well this must be a mistake! There was no Year 0 - it went ..., 2BC, 1BC, 1AD, 2AD, ... This is also why the third millennium does not begin on January 1st, 2000 but rather 1st January 2001. (01-01-01)
There are large bits of history missing: No Africa, South America, Australia, South East Asia, ...
There is a signature on the back of one of the panels - presumably of a previous owner. It looks like D. Dickens to me. I would have got excited if it was C. Dickens!
